John and Nina's videos show the real thing. It is not rehearsed to perfection for the video, it is not fake, it shows what happens when they teach, correct or solve a problem with dogs. It does not show magic dogs, it does not show quick fix solutions but it shows what it is all about training a gundog.

A brilliant one-stop-shop for Gundog training. As ever, John holds nothing back in showing how he trains his dogs, working from the basics with a puppy to a fully trained dog. It has something for everyone. For most people who have a dog or two every few years it is easy to forget how important each step in their training is – this is an excellent reminder. Wonderful that it is “interactive” too, with subscribers questions answered. The interviews are informative and show what a team John and Nina are. The subscription is excellent value too

You will be provided with 4 new videos uploaded per month, whilst the previous videos are reviewed and 4 videos removed each month. You are guaranteed to have access to every single video for a minimum period of 1 month. If you subscribe monthly on a consistent basis, you maybe invited on one of John and Nina Halsted's training opportunities that they will run throughout the year (subject to demand). Note, if you cancel your monthly subscription to Halsted Gundog Academy and then re-subscribe in the future, you will reset the clock in respect of you qualifying for an invitation to any of John and Nina's training opportunities

6 Monthly

£ 110 /6 months

You will get 4 new videos uploaded per month whilst the previous videos are reviewed and 4 videos removed each month. You are guaranteed to have access to every single video for a minimum period of 1 month. You will get second preference for an invitation to one of John and Nina Halsted's training opportunities throughout the year (subject to demand)

£ 200 /Year

You will get 4 new videos uploaded per month whilst the previous videos are reviewed and 4 videos removed each month. You are guaranteed to have access to every single video for a minimum period of 1 month. You will have first preference for an invitation to one of John and Nina Halsted's training opportunities throughout the year. You will also qualify for free advertisements of your basic health tested puppies and Field Trial Champion or Open Field Trial Winning Stud Dogs

Training Together

Halsted Gundog Academy is a subscription channel where you have access to videos of John and Nina Halsted training different components of a retrieve, with a variety of dogs


John and Nina have over 40 years of knowledge of training gundogs for the shooting field and also competing in field trials


You will have access to various videos and each month 4 new videos will be uploaded and all videos refreshed

What is HalstedGundogAcademy?

Halsted Gundog Academy is a subscription based streaming service that allows you to watch John and Nina Halsted carry out retriever training with their dogs and also watch them explain particular aspects of retriever training during their lessons

What is included in my subscription?

The benefits are slightly different depending on whether you subscribe monthly, 6 monthly or annually. See the subscription plans above for information

How many training videos will l be able to see?

There will be a bank of training videos when you initially subscribe, some of which will remain for the duration of your subscription


Over a period of 1 month, 4 new videos will be uploaded and the previous videos will be reviewed but there will remain a bank of training videos for you to continually watch

How will I know when new videos are uploaded?

As a member, you will receive a weekly email notifying you of any new videos that are available, unless you have unsubscribed from Halsted Gundog Academy emails

Can I cancel any time?

You can cancel any time you wish if Halsted Gundog Academy is not for you.
